Our Coaches
Steve Scott is a music educator for the Barbershop Harmony Society where he creates and curates educational material and music collections.
A barbershopper for over thirty years, Steve taught voice and choir at the college level before joining the BHS staff.
His research interests include the biophysiology of the singing voice, acoustics, and barbershop history.
He is a certified BHS Singing judge, a frequent faculty member for harmony colleges around the world where he teaches voice techniques and vocal pedagogy and is a clinician, voice teacher, and coach.
Steve serves as the principal vocal coach of the 2022 international champion chorus, the Music City Chorus, in Nashville TN, and was recently appointed Artistic Director of the Saltaires men’s chorus in Salt Lake City, UT.
He enjoys traveling and exploring the world with his wife and two children when not doing music.
Tyler Wigginton has been hooked on barbershop since he started at 16. He’s a three-time RMD district champion, a top-ten international quartet finalist (Sunday Night Social), a top-ten international chorus director (Sound of the Rockies), and a certified BHS Musicality judge. Barbershop has been a huge part of his life ever since, and he’s always finding new ways to keep it centre stage.
Based in Denver, Tyler also writes music and loves collaborating. His compositions have earned recognition, including 2nd prize at ISAM 2016, and have been performed by groups like The Playground Ensemble and Nova Ensemble. He works regularly with vocal ensembles around Denver and beyond, sharing his passion for music and building community.
When he’s not barbershopping or composing, Tyler enjoys rock climbing, RPG tabletops, and spending time with his wife and daughter.
Fifth Element is an award-winning barbershop quartet based in the UK, known for vibrant performances that span both traditional barbershop and modern genres. Formed in 2018, they won the UK championship in 2024 and will soon be representing the UK at the international barbershop convention in the USA.

Three members of the quartet are members of Malevox Mens chorus with Duncan as the MD and of ladies chorus Six Town Sound.
